Partnering with Kendra Cares to Spread Some Joy in Hospitals

We are so thrilled to officially announce our partnership with Kendra Scott and the Kendra Cares organization to deliver their Color Bar™ experience to pediatric patients.

Kendra Cares is Kendra Scott’s creative arts program that brings the magic and joy of their Color Bar™ to pediatric hospitals across the country, giving patients and their caregivers a break from their every day to design their own piece of customized jewelry at no cost.

In this global pandemic, we have all experienced the need to find new ways to connect, and often technology is helping us to do so. With our robot Moxi, the once in-person Kendra Cares program has been transformed into a one-of-a-kind virtual experience spreading joy to those that could use it.

We kicked off the partnership at The Children's Hospital of San Antonio (check out their video here) where our robot, Moxi, delivered care packages of Kendra Scott custom jewelry, plus Moxi coloring pages and crayons, to dozens of patients to brighten their day.

We also brought Moxi to Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas to spread more joy (and a lot of yellow bags!).

What’s so wonderful about our involvement with Kendra Scott is that the partnership spurred from a very unique problem. As COVID-19 spread in early 2020, the Kendra Cares efforts were sadly put on hold as hospitals worked to keep patients and workers safe in uncertain times.

We were so excited when, last year, Kendra Scott approached us about the partnership. When her team asked Moxi to be part of the delivery experience to the patients at the Children's Hospital, we knew it was the perfect way to not only bring smiles to the children who love interacting with Moxi but to also show the staff how Moxi can help deliver all kinds of things in a hospital setting.

Now, aided by a virtual Color Bar™ design process, Kendra Cares team members are able to use Moxi to deliver the finished jewelry pieces directly (and safely) to patients.

We are looking forward to the continued collaboration with the Kendra Cares team and working with them to provide grants to help fund the Child Life teams who make these interactions a reality.
